First of all, we need to know what does "Thank You" mean and how can we use it?
According to Cambridge dictionary, "thank you" is used to tell someone that you are grateful because they have given you something or done something for you. You can also use "thank you" to show your disapproval of something.
Examples:
- Thank you for coming to my birthday's party! (feeling grateful or thankful).
- Is there something I can do for you? and then you answered, "no, thank you" (means that you were politely refuse something that has been offered to you).
Now that we understand what it means, let's take a look at some of the examples!
1. A simple 'Thanks'.
This is an informal way of saying thank you, but you can add something like "a lot", "a ton", or "a million" to make it more polite :)
2. Thank you very much.
This one is a formal way. You can use it for your elders or the people whom you really respect.
3. I'm truly grateful!
For example, you'll use this way of saying thank you for someone who has helped your homework.
4. I can't thank you enough
You can use this to say that you're really thankful because of someone's help.
5. That's a sweet of you...
use it to your mates or people who are on the same age as you, that'll be good. Anyways, a simple thank you can be followed, example: that's a sweet of you, thanks a lot :)
and the last one,
6. I appreciate.... (your time or help or....)
you can use it as a formal phrase, mostly if you have to do something in your e-mail.
and then, how to acknowledge one's thank you?
- the most common one, "you're welcome" (That is used as a polite answer when someone thanks you for doing something)
- It's my pleasure
- No sweat
- It's alright
- Not at all (this is such a very friendly manner)
That's all I can share for today. Hope this will be helpful!
Have a nice day x
